3 WOODS is an ongoing trilogy of interdisciplinary, site-responsive, and community-engaged artworks by the artist duo Mia & Eric (Mia Rushton und Eric Moschopedis) from Calgary (Canada). The project features three different forests in Europe: Folkeparken in Northern Norway, Chopwell Wood in North East England, and the Heidewald in South West Germany. The process is being supported by Arctic Arts Festival in Norway, GIFT Festival in the UK, and Matchbox in Germany.
This Planted Place is a three-channel, 25 minute video installation and part of the ongoing 3 Woods project. It examines the ecological complexities and human and more-than-human relationships in the Heidewald—a small woodland in Maxdorf, Germany. In remote (but close) collaboration with Mia & Eric I collected videos of the Heidewald which later became a main part of the art installation in the open studio in Dilsberg.
